History of the Chalet

Chalet Aiarei was one of the primary structures within the duo of main buildings known as "maso" in the local Tirol dialect. The term refers to a farmstead typically comprised of a main residence along with barns and cow sheds. Our dwelling has its origins in the 14th century when it was first constructed.

The dilapidated structure was acquired by our family and meticulously reconstructed from the ground up by our uncle, architect Valerio Bedini.

The reconstruction followed a conservatory approach, aiming to preserve the original essence. Whenever feasible, the project utilized the existing timber, maintaining the original construction methods, and incorporating wood for the floors, beams, and exterior.

The roofing, adhering to the traditional method known as "scandole," involved assembling small wooden slats by hand, reflecting the age-old craftsmanship of roofing. The outcome is a splendid residence restored to its initial grandeur, with the incorporation of modern and eco-friendly technology. The house is powered by photovoltaic panels, relying also on solar energy for all electrical needs.
